BENEDICTION: Now may our God and Father Himself and Jesus our Lord direct our way to you; and may the Lord cause you too increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you; so that He may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His Saints.
-  1Thessalonians 3:11-13

I would propose that the subject of the ministry of this church, as long as this house shall be frequented by worshipers, shall be the person of Jesus Christ.  I do not hesitate to take the name of the Baptist: but if I am asked what my creed is, I reply, "It is Jesus Christ."  The legacy to which I would pin and bind myself forever, God helping me, is Jesus Christ, who is the arm and substance of the gospel, who is in Himself all theology, the incarnation of every precious truth.

 Thoughts to remember:

        My life shall touch a dozen lives before this day is done;
        Leave countless marks for good or ill, ere sets the evening sun.
        This is the wish I always wish, the prayer I always pray:
        Lord, may my life help other lives it touches by the way.
